Research Areas
At L Research, our work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and 3D imaging. We focus on four complementary areas of expertise:
- Computational photography and image processing — developing algorithms that enhance, restore and interpret images captured under real-world conditions, including HDR imaging and computational enhancement techniques.
- 3D point clouds — processing and analysing large-scale spatial point cloud data acquired from 3D sensors, for use in mapping, inspection and digital reconstruction.
- Computer graphics — designing rendering and visualisation techniques that make complex 3D data understandable and usable, from photorealistic rendering to interactive visualisation.
- 3D reconstruction — building accurate 3D models of real-world scenes and objects from images or sensor data, a core capability for digital twins, virtual reality and spatial computing.
